What is Your Website Address?

The address of a Website is a URL (Uniform Resource Locator). Visitors find you on the web, or something that you have placed on the Internet, by using your URL. This URL is also known as your Internet address.

If you have registered your own domain name, your domain name is your main URL. One of the most useful purpose of having a Website, is that it gives you an Internet address or domain name.

Technology available has made it extremely easy to create and maintain your own Website effectively. You can build your new Website or optimize your existing Website to be compatible with the evolving trends of Internet traffic flow.

Where Can You Put Your URL?

In addition to using your domain name in online advertising, promotion and general information, you can also print your domain name (i.e. your Website’s URL) on your business cards.

You can include it in your yellow page listing in the phone directory. You can put it in newspaper and magazine ads.

You can also put it on billboards. You can even put it on radio and television commercials for people to easily find what you placed on the Internet in your website.

Sending Traffic To Your Website

When you advertise and promote on your site you are sending Internet traffic to the website. It is very important and convenient to have a web.

This convenience of directing people to a place where you can put almost limitless information for them to peruse will continue to be an integral aspect of the Internet Marketing platform.

The Internet is evolving and it identifies many new roles you can assume to become a successful Internet Marketer. There are means of bringing attention to your information and new ways of effectively presenting your products and services.

Package Your Information

You need to organize your Website, in terms of “packaged information units” or web pages. Consider the information components that go into a web page and how those are organized on a given page.

Each web page and their various information components should tie into each other. You also examine how these tie into other information on the Internet.

A single web page needs a single primary subject and a single primary purpose. Your pages should be able to both stand alone and fit into differing contexts as necessary.

Set Up Your Pages

The pages of your Website is what play an integral part in the mechanics and navigation of your site. The main page should be your Home page. This can have the primary introductory page for your entire Website.

The Contact Page is where visitors can send you a message or learn how to contact you. Your information and advertising page is sometimes called a Blog Page or your Content page.

Here visitors can see a list of your published items and their descriptions and subscribe to your feed. If you have a “sitemap” page, listing all of the pages of your site, this too would be an organization page.

“Terms of Use” or “Privacy Policy” pages, are organization pages. Any page whose primary purpose is to provide information about using or navigating your Website can be characterized as an organization page.

The Action Page

A “payoff page” is a Web page where you invoke action from your site visitors. Your visitors can purchase products or services, join your opportunity, or subscribe to your Blog feed.

Another example of a payoff page is your Newsletter page, where visitors can sign up for your Newsletter. You can, of course, have several different payoff pages across your Website.

Your payoff pages are the pages that make you money, either immediately by bringing about a product purchase, or eventually by collecting a subscriber who may make a purchase in the future.

Working or Landing Page

Working pages should be packages of information that can serve as building blocks. They are stepping stones in the flow of information across your Website.

They can also be stepping stones in paths of information across the Internet. They can be landing pages for search engine listings or advertisements.

They can be target pages of advertising items, also. There roles are not mutually exclusive and some pages can serve more than one of these purposes at once.

Your Article And Content Blog

With certain exceptions, you can think of each working page of your Website as an “article”. It should contain information on a limited subject. That information should be organized and presented concisely.

The working page should fit comfortably into the overall scheme of your Website. From an information point of view, it should also be capable of standing alone.

It helps to think of each working page of your Website as an interchangeable package of information that can be plugged into different larger packages of information at appropriate places.

Content Allows Linking

To understand this, think of how letters form words, how words are used to form sentences and how sentences form paragraphs then articles. The various articles can be used to build larger bodies of information that may run across several different Websites on the Internet.

You should approach each working page of your Website with the above concepts in mind. Make each page capable of standing on its own and capable of fitting into a broader trail of information on the subject.

Your pages should tie in with other pages on your Website and with other pages out on the web dealing with the same subject matter. One way to accomplish this is by the appropriate use of links.

Content Boxes

Web pages can contain component parts that include different types of media such as pictures, video, sound, scripts, forms, and many other things.

Traffic users are accustomed to “multiple streams of information” presented simultaneously. The acceptance of these multiple streams of information is very popular on the Internet. In fact, the use of multiple steams of information finds its greatest expression on the Internet.

Hypertext links – the backbone of the World Wide Web – are the quintessential expression of multiple streams of information. The links that you include in the content of your working pages should be for the purpose of providing choices to your viewers
