Ephesians 4: 31-32: “Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.”
The Victims
It was reported on the 8th September 2021 that two more victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center have been identified in New York City. This is just days before the nation marks the 20th anniversary of the tragedy.
It’s the first time in two years a victim’s remains have been identified. There are still more than 1,100 victims, at least 40% of those who died on 9/11, that remain unidentified according to the medical source.
The longtime effort to identify victims of the WTC attacks is considered the largest and most complex forensic investigation in U.S. history, according to New York City’s Office of Chief Medical Examiner.
The History
The September 11, 2001 attacks, were a series of coordinated terrorist attacks killing 2,977 people using four aircrafts hijacked by 19 members of Al-Qaeda. The enduring purpose of the this attacks is clearly a case of hatred. September 11th is commemorated as Patriot Day and a National Day of Service and Remembrance in America.
On that historical day Americans watched in horror as the terrorist attacked and left a trail of death and destruction in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
Counting the value of lives lost as well as property damaged and cost of lost production of goods and services, the value exceeded $100 billion. Including the loss in stock market wealth — the market’s own estimate arising from expectations of lower corporate profits and higher discount rates for economic volatility — the price tag approached $2 trillion – the economic world reported.
An overwhelming share of Americans, who are old enough to recall the day will remember where they were and what they were doing when they heard the news. Yet an ever-growing number of the current population have no personal memory of that day, either because they were too young or not yet born.

The Hate Game Continues
Nearly 20 years later, Americans watched in sorrow as the nation’s military mission in Afghanistan – which began less than a month after 9/11 – came to a bloody and chaotic conclusion.
Following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in America, Britain, USA and other allies deployed troops to Afghanistan to destroy Al-Qaeda, and the Taliban that had backed them. Now, the Taliban is in control of the country, as it was on Sept. 11, 2001, the day of the terrorist attacks by Al Qaeda.
The U.S. war in Afghanistan was a costly failure according to one opinion reported in the news. More than 2,400 Americans died during the two-decade conflict. Tens of thousands more returned home with life-altering wounds. The Kabul government collapsed before American forces had withdrawn and the Afghan Army simply evaporated.
America Since Then
Patriotism does not claim a country is without flaws. In fact, many people who identify as patriotic do not always feel proud of their government, their fellow citizens or even themselves.
Americans have corrected many of its flaws with amendments and extending franchises to everyone. However it must be admitted that systemic racism is embedded into the structure of the Constitution, laws, society and history.
Unfortunately, many people world-wide do not believe that America is worth loving. This position is certainly understandable. Recent riots, violence and corruption remind us that America is far from perfect.
What Next For This Great Land?
Today when Americans hold up a mirror to themselves, they still like what they see according to one poll. 78 percent of U.S. adults hold favorable opinions about the United States, unchanged from the day before the fall of Kabul and up 5 points since Biden took office. The share with unfavorable views has fallen by a similar share.
According to surveys conducted Aug. 18-24, 2021 America’s net favorability rating fell 10 percentage points in the United Kingdom since Aug. 8-14 polling. This is the biggest decline to America’s global reputation in every place surveyed except for China. The share of adults with a favorable view of the United States minus the share with an unfavorable view is the 10 percentage measure.
Statistics shows that the United States ranks No. 20, down five spots from last year, by survey respondents for providing a good quality of life. Even though it placed No. 4 for its job market, the country placed No. 51 for affordability.
Future Test Case
Afghanistan “is a sort of early test case” for how China will handle “a specific group of countries that the U.S. has been so deeply absorbed with over the past couple of decades,” Andrew Small, a senior fellow at the German Marshall Fund of the United States, a policy think tank, said. “There is this question of what China’s approach is actually able to deliver.”
“Beijing’s Afghan policy will also be something more, though: a test of its entire worldview, and the specific form of international relations it has created. Beijing and Washington have the same basic concern about Afghanistan—that it will again become an international threat—but China’s leaders see the problem in an entirely different way” as quoted from Michael Schuman article.
Meanwhile, there are questions about who will fill the vacuum left by the “weak” American commitment in the region, said Eswar Prasad, a professor of trade policy at Cornell University in New York . “The question is whether there is an alternative power that can, again, fill in the void that might be created by perceptions of weak American commitments or weak American ability to deliver on those commitments.”
“Life Goes On” Quotes
Try and do your best to have a positive outlook in life, things happen because they have to. If these things don’t take place life will not be able to continue.
Whether you are alone or you are in a company always bear in mind that your life will go on. Always remember that time and tide wait on no one.
Life is like a pavement that we all have to travel. There will be bumps and cracks and it might even be blocked at times. The most significant thing is that life continues to go on.
